A fundraising quest made by “Svoimi Slovami” and its friends.
“Svoimi Slovami” is a Russian language school for bilingual children and a vital hub for the Russian-speaking community in the Bay Area. It's heartwarming to know that they and friends of Podari.Life organized a special event to bring local families together and support us.
The event, which took place on April 23, 2023, saw over 30 families come together to enjoy a memorable time. While the children had a great time and made lasting memories, the parents were aware that their participation was also making a difference in the lives of other children. These children, who were in a Russian hospital fighting cancer and awaiting vital medications, would benefit from the funds raised during the event.
Thanks to the generosity and support of the attendees, a remarkable amount of $10,000 was raised. This significant sum was then utilized to purchase 30 vials of Foscavir, a critical anti-bacterial and anti-viral medication that plays a vital role in the recovery process for patients after bone marrow transplants.
This event not only brought the community together but also showcased the power of compassion and collective effort in making a positive impact. The families who participated can take pride in knowing that their contributions directly supported the well-being and treatment of children battling cancer. It's an inspiring example of how a community can come together to create meaningful change and support those in need.
